2010 W/Cup: Eagles must win remaining qualifiers -Laloko

For the Super Eagles to be in South Africa for the 2010 World Cup, the team must win all its remaining three qualifying matches starting with the Carthage Eagles of Tunisa on September 6, 2009 in Abuja.

This was the submission of the former Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Kashimawo Laloko who believed that nothing should stand between the Eagles and the South Africa 2010 World Cup.

Laloko while speaking with Tribunesports said the Super Eagles after their victory over Tunsia come September should go ahead to defeat Mozambique and Kenya in the last games and pray Mozambique beat Tunisia.

This, he said, would secure a place for the country at the first ever World Cup to be held on African soil, adding that NFF officials should be alive to their responsibilities.

Laloko noted that the Eagles must be adequately prepared both mentally and physically with a view to ensuring their qualification for the 2010 World Cup.

“We need adequate preparation to achieve this, the players and the NFF should know that the match against Tunisia will determine a lot of things for us to be at the World Cup. Any attempt to play a draw or lose the match means we should just bid bye bye to the World Cup but with determination on the part of the players and adequate preparation from NFF, I see us scaling through,” Laloko noted.
