2010 W/Cup qualifier Eguavoen predicts 2-0 win for Eagles against Tunisia

Former Super Eagles head coach, Austin Eguavoen is so confident the team will beat Tunisia, just as he has boldly predicted a 2-0 scoreline in favour of Nigeria.

The Eagles go toe-to-toe with their direct rivals, the Carthage Eagles, for a 2010 World Cup ticket in Abuja next month, with a win the only result good enough to rekindle hopes of qualification.

Eguavoen, who coached the team for the last two games in their ultimately unsuccessful bid to reach the 2006 World Cup finals, says the Eagles are big game players when they set their minds to it.

“I can say this without fear and you can quote me anywhere, the Super Eagles will win that match. And they will win by two goals.

“The boys like big games. When they need to deliver, they will do it,” he told KickOffNigeria.com. “They know how important this is for them and they can’t wait to get on the pitch that day and show what they can do.”

Eguavoen masterminded big wins over Algeria and Zimbabwe last time out and says the dressing room will be charged up.

“That dressing room will be fired up, and the players will be looking to prove a point.”
